Rating agency Fitch Ratings has reaffirmed Kaufman & Broad's "Investment Grade" rating ("BBB-") with a stable outlook. This decision, renewed for the fifth consecutive year since 2022, underscores the Group’s financial strength and the resilience of its business model in a persistently sluggish real estate market.
A Strong Commercial and Financial Profile
In its analysis, Fitch Ratings highlights Kaufman & Broad’s strong commercial and financial profile, driven in particular by its residential development business across major French urban areas. Despite challenging market conditions, the Group maintained a stable gross margin of 19.5% and an EBITDA margin of 8.0% during the 2025 fiscal year. The agency also emphasizes Kaufman & Broad’s ability to maintain a robust financial structure, supported by limited working capital requirements, high pre-sale rates, controlled construction and land costs, and a rigorous land selection strategy.
Preserved Investment Capacity
Fitch Ratings expects Kaufman & Broad to maintain a positive net cash position in 2026 while continuing to fund the redevelopment works at Gare d’Austerlitz. The agency also notes that the repayment of the €100 million bond issue during fiscal year 2025 allows the Group to operate with zero financial debt, enhancing its flexibility to support business growth once market conditions improve.
A Unique Distinction in Continental Europe
To date, Kaufman & Broad remains the only pure-play developer in Continental Europe to hold an “Investment Grade” rating. This reaffirmed assessment by Fitch Ratings illustrates the Group’s financial stability and its ability to generate strong, sustainable cash flows while continuing its development projects in a demanding environment.
